Batteries...finally!

So...as promised, I did finally go buy some batteries for my camera!  I know, I know, major slacker!  But the good news is...I haven't just been sitting around doing nada...here are some new projects I have been working on!

Isn't this just gorgeous?  Made of brocade and faux leather, it has an absolutely classy look!

I added a black silk bow for the finishing touch.

The inside has 3 pockets and a magnetic snap.
Only $25!!!  What a deal!

When I'm not working on purses, I love to quilt!  I have been working on this quilt for a while now and mind you, this is only the pieced top...it isn't quilted yet.  I do love it though!!!

How cool is this?!  I call it the "God's Eye" quilt because it reminds me of those crafts we used to make as kids with the varigated yarn and popcicle sticks in Spanish class!

I just love the colors!!!

Up close you can see that it is made up of dozens (seemed like zillions) of small squares!  A bit time-consuming but the end result was sooo worth it!

My son has to model everytime I take a picture!  This is a large throw size or a twin/full size "topper" (fits just across the top of a full size bed w/ no overhang).
Buy it now for the holidays...makes an amazing gift!  Will be machine quilted with black back and multi-colored thread.  Only $200!!!

So, there ya go...now you know what I've been up to while the batteries were dead!

No batteries...

Sorry guys that I haven't put up any new photos of any new projects.  My digital camera uses batteries and they died!  I think I am probably the only mother in the world who doesn't have a secret stash of batteries lying around the house!  So, sorry...I promise to get to the store soon and buy new batteries!  Thanks for bearing with me until then!  I'll also post some photos of my Grandparents' 60th Anniversary Party!  Yep, you read it right...60 YEARS!  Pretty Awesome I think!  Way to go, Grandma and Grandpa!

Post more soon...

More projects

Here are a few more bags I have been making...
I quilted this one with a varigated brown/tan thread.  I love the way the quilting and bow stand out.
The inside has one large and 2 small pockets.
The customer also ordered a matching wallet...
inside...
back zippered pocket.
She also ordered a small bag, almost like a coin purse with outside pockets and a long enough strap to wear like a messenger bag...
Kind of blurry...but you see the 2 pockets on the outside...there are 2 on the other side as well.
inside...
and, yes, I won't lie,...my absolute favorite!  GO COLTS!!!  This one is mine...it's a tote that is tall enough to hold notebooks/books/etc, with 2 pockets on the outside (one on each side) and 6 inside...
I quilted the fabric with a meandering design...too cute!
and the inside...you can see that there are 2 large pockets and 4 small ones...to keep organized!
Enjoy!

Ms. High Maintenance Madonna

Whew!  This woman is soooo high maintenance...Madonna, that is!  A good friend ordered a Madonna purse and, well, all I need to say is that Madonna is very lucky she turned out sooo darn cute! haha  The material was lycra, not the normal cotton blends I use, so it presented more of a challenge than normal.  But check out the end result!  AWESOME!!!  IT IS SO VERY UNIQUE AND WAY TOOO CUTE!
Here is a picture of the whole bag, side #1...
Here is the whole bag, side #2...
side #2 close up...
side #1 close up...
The top band on side #1...I just thought my friend would like that! haha
The inside with snap and pocket!

Camo and Pink...a new favorite!

My cousin, Amy, is dating an Army guy.  Being the cute, supportive girlyfriend that she is, she has decided to order a camoflauge tote and makeup bag.  She ordered the camo online, it's the real stuff, and wanted it lined with pink and a pink bow.  Well, finally her order came and this is it...I really like it and think it's super cute!
She is going to use it as her school bag, so it's big enough for her college books.
The inside has one large camo pocket that I divided into 2 pockets (can't really tell in this picture).
It also has a zippered pocket on the other side.
I'm thinking this could definately be a great style for anyone who is either in the military or has a loved one in the military.   I can see diaper bags, purses, totes, wallets, etc being made from this with all different colors as the contrast.  It could be a great way to show off your support!  This bag would be $30 not including the purchase of the special camo (I guess each branch of the military has a different look???  Still researching that!).

Working on it...

Hey there!  I just want to let you know that I am working on adding a paypal link so that you can buy now/make a payment, etc.  I have no idea what I am doing, so bear with me! I do have a paypal account so rest assured you can still order and make payments that way (which I suggest if you are out of town...much safer and easier than mailing a check and waiting for it to clear and praying it doesn't get lost in the mail!).  So, until, genious me gets things up and running, feel free to use paypal the old fashioned way (you know, logging in and putting in my info---pathetic, yes, I know!).  My email address is:  simplysandra@vsgonzalezgroup.com.

Thanks for bearing with me!  You guys are great!
